About the Survey
The survey was conducted by Kraken in June 2025 using the Pollfish online panel, with a sample of 2,000 residents of Poland aged 18–65 who have internet access. The sample was representative of this age group in terms of gender and age. Percentages were rounded to one decimal place. Some questions allowed for multiple responses.

Who’s Winning – Crypto or Stocks?
Cryptocurrencies have gone mainstream: they now outpace stocks and bonds as an investment choice. According to the survey, 30.9% of Poles currently invest in crypto, compared to 21.4% in stocks and 19% in bonds. This may reflect the lower barriers to entry in the world of crypto compared to traditional finance, like low minimum deposits and purchase amounts and an intuitive user interfaces.

Summary: Crypto Surpasses Stocks and Bonds as Leading Investment Among Poles
Our online survey of Polish adults aged 18–65 shows that cryptocurrency has overtaken stocks and bonds as the leading investment asset. In total, over 60% are either invested or open to entering the crypto market, signaling that digital assets have become mainstream. 30,9% of Poles currently invest in crypto, compared to 21,4% in stocks and 19% in bonds. Among those who invest in crypto, 44,2% say they entered the market within the past year.

Summary: Why and how Poles invest in crypto
Among those already invested, 71,3% trade monthly or more, and 1 in 5 do so several times per week. A majority (65,6%) have used crypto for payments, and 73,2% would accept all or part of their salary in crypto. Still, most investors are conservative: 73,6% invest modest monthly amounts (100–3,000 zł), and 67% hold less than 20% of their total assets in crypto — showing that while crypto is popular, it’s not reckless. When asked how they would spend 5,000 zloty if they received it today, almost 60% of of crypto users said they would invest it in crypto, compared to almost 26% who said they would invest it in stocks and real estate, and 20% who said they would save it in a traditional bank.
The study also explored investor motivations. While 53,2% of users invest for quick profit, many are motivated by other values: 47,5% are curious about the technology, 42,6% seek financial independence, and 30,3% view crypto as a hedge against inflation. However, most take a short- to medium-term view. Only 25,7% say crypto is part of their long-term financial strategy.
Another sign of entering the mainstream is the openness to talk about crypto investing within one's social circle. Crypto is no longer a secret — only 10,3% of investors keep their crypto investments to themselves, while the rest share openly (48,4%) or selectively (41,3%).

Summary: Barriers and regulations
But what’s holding back the next wave of adoption? The primary barriers to start investing in crypto or to invest more are risk (35,6%), lack of knowledge (30,2%), and fear of scams (29%). Many say they’d be more confident investing if platforms felt simpler, more secure, or came with a trusted recommendation.
The survey also asked crypto users and the crypto-curious about MiCA, the EU’s new crypto regulation. Even among these engaged groups, 46,8% had never heard of MiCA, 38,4% had heard of it but didn’t know the details, and just 14,7% said they understood what it was about. This knowledge gap highlights an opportunity for the industry to lead on education and reassurance.
As adoption accelerates, Kraken aims to support Polish users not just with access — but with tools and educational resources that empower them to explore the crypto ecosystem and invest with confidence.
