The OTC Portal is a self-service system that enables OTC clients to get executable, automated quotes for supported cryptoassets, including:

Position exposure information
Recent transactions and OTC trading history

What cryptocurrencies do we support?

Trade over chat:

All asset pairs listed on the Kraken exchange (subject to geographic restrictions)

RFQ:

Over 20 assets, including stablecoins (subject to geographic restrictions)

OTC Derivatives:

BTC and ETH are supported for options trading (subject to geographic restrictions).

What is the minimum trade size?

The minimum trade amount is an equivalent value of $100,000 USD. There is no maximum size for trading over chat.

Is there a fee?

Kraken OTC Desk does not charge any fees. The bid or offer price we show is the 'all-inclusive' price.

How do I get started?

You must be verified with a Pro level Kraken exchange account to access the OTC desk.

How does settlement work?

Trade obligations must be settled within 24 hours
Crypto can be settled to/from your Kraken exchange wallet or sent to the external wallet of your choice
USD can be settled to/from your Kraken account or wired directly to your bank account
AUD can be settled directly to/from your domestic bank account
Other fiat currencies available for trading on Kraken must be settled to your Kraken account

Your settlement options:

Flexible settlement arrangements allow you to settle trades with your Kraken account, your bank, or an external wallet of your choice within 24 hours
RFQ offers a fully automated trade and settlement feature, in addition to flexible settlement (subject to eligibility):
- Automated settlement allows you to trade and settle with your Kraken balance. Your Kraken account must be funded, and once your trade is filled your assets will be settled into your Kraken account within seconds.
- Flexible settlement, available to eligible clients, allows you to settle trades within 24 hours via your Kraken account, bank or an external wallet.

Terms and eligibility

Minimum order size is $100,000, however exceptions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Kraken OTC does not custody assets on behalf of trading counterparties.
Eligibility for OTC trading is subject to AML/KYC and other requirements.
